Spicy Mushroom Jerky

Where are my jerky lovers at? Mushrooms are so versatile, so why not use them to make some homemade jerky?!?!

Ingredients

  • 9-10oz baby bella mushrooms (shiitake or portobello will work too)
  • 3 Tbsp liquid amino OR coconut amino
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup OR brown rice syrup
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar OR lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees OR use the jerky setting on dehydrator
  • Clean and thinly slice mushrooms
  • Mix liquid amino, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sriracha sauce, minced garlic, chili powder, minced onion, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a bowl
  • Place mushrooms in the bowl and stir until evenly coated with sauce
  • Evenly distribute the mushrooms onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • PlaceĀ baking sheet in the oven for 2.5-3 hours or until the mushrooms are dry and chewy. Flip mushrooms halfway to make sure they cook evenly

TIP:Ā Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for a 7-10 days
