  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp nori flakes
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • to taste salt & pepper

‍

Dry Batter

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp cajun/creole seasoning
  • to taste salt & pepper

‍

Wet Batter

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup soda water
  • 2 Tbsp vegan egg
  • 2 tsp Old Bay seasoning

‍

Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce

  • 1 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped roasted red bell peppers
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
  • to taste salt

‍

Garnish Ingredients

  • sandwich bread of choice
  • dill pickle slices
  • lettuce
  • steak fries

‍

Directions

  • Mix together marinade ingredients and marinate banana blossom for 3-4 hours OR overnight, in the refrigerator, if possible. The longer you marinate, the more flavor it will have and the softer the texture will be.
  • Mix together the ingredients for dry batter
  • Mix together the ingredients for wet batter
  • Dip banana blossom into dry batter and then wet batter
  • Deep fry or air fry the banana blossom (I prefer to deep fry in grapeseed oil)
  • Prep and mix together the sauce ingredients in a bowl
  • Build your sandwich and enjoy!
