Mangoville Hot Sauce

When I originally made this sauce, I was staying at an incredible resort in Jamaica!! We were able to source almost all of the ingredients directly from the land. Although I couldn't do that at home, this recipe is still fire! Feel free to kick up the spice level by adding some scotch bonnet or habanero peppers. Slap this sauce on a mushroom chik'n sandwich and imagine yourself at the beach on the Caribbean Sea.

Shopping List 

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe Ataúlfo mangoes
  • 1/4 cup coconut OR rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 2-3 Tbsp hot sauce (can sub for hot peppers)
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp minced onions
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2-3 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • to taste salt & pepper

Directions

  • Peel, deseed, and dice the mangoes
  • Blend all ingredients together is a high speed blender

TIP: If you don't use this right away, warm it in the microwave for a short time to allow the coconut oil to melt before serving
